Responsible for the collection and preparation of medical records for patient care, coding and reimbursement activities, physician chart completion, and permanent record storage and retrieval.  This position is responsible for ensuring the timely retrieval and process of medical record documentation to ensure that records are complete, accurate, in compliance and maintained in accordance with Regulations, State and Federal guidelines, and HIPPA standards.  Reviews and edits the tickets for appropriate insurance information.

  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
  • Chart prep incoming information from fax, scanned provider notes, in house information, external patient information, future patient appointments and new patient records. Performs chart prep for preloading electronic medical record according to departmental guidelines.
  • Must be detail oriented and a self-starter
  • Maintain open communication with physicians, staff, and supervisors to complete or resolve all issues.

Part-time Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and PRN position available

Qualifications: Must have CNMT or ARRT (N) registered, Texas Department of Health MRT. Hazardous material license required. Must have previous clinical experience.  Must possess computer proficiency and willing to work with various applications and equipment.

  • Operate complex gamma detection cameras to produce technically acceptable nuclear medicine scans for interpretation by the radiologist or cardiologist.
  • Prepare and administer intravenous injections and isotopes (diagnostic and therapeutic) for indicated studies.
  • Calibrate, record, and administer diagnostic and therapeutic isotopes.
  • Preform real time and computer enhanced imaging analysis of nuclear medicine scans.
  • Receive, store, and dispose of radioactive drugs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Organize images for cardiologist to include completed worksheet, current study, prior exam, and ensure that IMAGES are labeled correctly according to ACR standards. Include all images required by ACR, including time activity curve.
  • Ensure charge information is transmitted to coding for accurate billing.  The cardiology department cannot bill for interpretation of exam without a final dictated report.  Final report will be spot checked by Nuclear Cardiology technologist for all ACR required information.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have stamina to work in a fast-paced job which requires some lifting of patients and wearing protective lead gloves and aprons.
