Renal Doppler Ultrasound
1. RENAL DOPPLER ULTRASOUND (different from a Renal Ultrasound). This test will examine your renal arteries using sound waves. There are no known health risks from using these sound waves to make images.
2. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight until after the exam is completed the following morning. You may take medication with a small amount of water.
3. An ultrasonographer will make a set of images for the Radiologist. A gel will be applied to your abdomen and the ultrasound transducer will be rubbed on your skin.
4. The Radiologist will interpret your images and a report will be sent to your doctor. You will receive the report from your doctor.
