Renal Doppler Ultrasound
- RENAL DOPPLER ULTRASOUND (different from a Renal Ultrasound). This test will examine your renal arteries using sound waves. There are no known health risks from using these sound waves to make images.
- Do not eat or drink anything after midnight until after the exam is completed the following morning. You may take medication with a small amount of water.
- An ultrasonographer will make a set of images for the Radiologist. A gel will be applied to your abdomen and the ultrasound transducer will be rubbed on your skin.
- The Radiologist will interpret your images and a report will be sent to your doctor. You will receive the report from your doctor.
